Should I keep my tint or redo it?

Considering going with a more black colored looking tint. Right now I have on a metallic tint -- I like it a lot because it is unique but i'm wondering if the black would look better for my colored car -- maybe it would make it more sporty looking...i'm also probably going to paint those headlight housings soon as well so you think that would complete the look?

Your thoughts?

Current tint job:

doesn't look bad how it is, but a nice 20% black would be good too

yea i was originally going to go w/ the classic black but the stupid guy at the tint shop talked me into this... always go w/ ur original intentions i guess... O WOE IS ME

Don't get me wrong I love what's on the car now, but it's that whole psychological thing where you feel like you get talked into something... lol

Looks hot, silver is the only color that can really get away with that kind of tint.

That kind of tint is perfect for your car. I think it looks better than the black for that type of color you have. Plus, it may save you more aggrivation if the shop does'nt remove the old tint off the back window correctly, ruining the rear defroster. Just my $.02.

Your care looks great just as it is. Personally, I wouldn't change another thing. It looks great, retains the aggressive elegance of the Maxima that most people lose when they mod their cars. Nice ride.

It isn't (arguably) cheap. You will need lowering springs (see the spring thread and Housecor's site). You will most likely need new struts (see the strut thread and Housecor's site). If you can't install them yourself you will have to pay for labor or you might find a friend to do help you. Then you'll need to pay for alignment.

I would leave your car as is and just do the drop of you can afford it. Painting the headlights will stand out too much IMO for your car. I mean, look at your front. Silver grill, silver headlights, clear corners, and color of your fogs (stock) blend so well together that if you put black in those headlights I think it would come off too strong (unless you had a cf hood). On top of that, the titanium rims, tint, and sheer silver compliment each other. Anyways, thats IMO. Your money lol.

It depends a lot on what you get, but a good round number would be about $1000 to do it right. I just bought springs and struts for my dad's '02 Max last weekend. It cost (roughly) about $200 for the springs (H&R Sport) and another $600 for the struts (Tokico Illumina), and they have yet to be installed. Considering that the struts were completely shot anyway and had to be replaced, it's only costing maybe $400 above what we would have paid for OEM struts and stock springs. I hope it'll be worth it - our primary motivation is improving handling, the "dropped look" is secondary.

Good luck!

grass is always greener on the other side isnt it? just keep it, its really not gonna change your ride much any ways. get new rims or drop it, or get DDE's. but your tint looks good.

By "our" I am referring to "us" who are the ones paying for the parts, installing them, and then driving the car. That would be my dad and myself, and our opinion on dropping is that appearance is secondary to performance. I don't care what other people do with their money and their cars, everyone has different tastes and opinions. I also don't care whether people agree with me or not. The only poll necessary is already closed.

illuminas will not cost you 600 bucks. i believe they are around 435 shipped over the net somewhere. 200 is about right for springs depending on what you get. i found a brand new set of htechs for 75 shipped off ebay (yes they were sealed when i got them) so you can do it for less if you look around i guess. if you know something about cars i would say youd be able to install them yourself, its pretty straight forward or you can find someone who will help you. you can also get tokico blues (300) instead of the illuminas if you dont want to shell out so much and as long as your not dropping on stech or something that low.
