I like how they look. Also, I wouldn't pull the dust caps off. Many people have told me that getting dirt into the grease in the axle is a big no no.

Not a problem, the caps are there to protect against dirt and water but they only really serve a perpose with steelies that dont cover the hub. With alloys the wheel and center cap do the job keeping moisture and dirt out. Plus, it's a sealed bearing

I am going for the TE37's in bronze. but a 18x8.5 and possible 9.5 in rear. with the Azenis 615's. Somebody in my car club has them on his WRX. Once you get down to take off the Azenis writing on the tire the at there best.

the other concern with the Azenis are that they are much beefier (read: wider) in a 245/45/17 size than are the kooks....I had concerns with them rubbing and don't want to roll the fenders at this time. The kooks in that size I knew would fit without rubbing on those wheels/offset.

Love teh TE37s though....If I had more cash on hand, would have gotten them.

sorry for bumping an old thread, but what's the difference between a center cap and a dust cap?

center cap is on the wheel itself. Dust cap is on the hub of the spindle.

So, the center cap fits only without the dust cap? If yes, is it "safe" to take off the dust cap? (probably stupid questions, but I don't have any experience with this stuff)

I wouldn't take off the dust caps (doubt that it is even possible) in the rear as they hold in the grease for the hub/bearing assembly... If you do, you could ruin your hub. I know people have mashed in the dustcap with a hammer to make wheels fit though.

The cap really isn't holding in any grease. And the cap is actually pretty easy to remove too. A flatblade and hammer will get that thing right off. Was thinking about removing the hub when installing spacers... Then decided it would be way more work than it was worth.

I really dont see it being dangerous to remove it, especially if the wheels are on (covering the spindle).
