I used Sea Foam in the past only my wife's Accord and it did wonders. Improved gas mileage and acceleration. I put it in the vacuum line to clean the TB and had not problems. I never really thought of using on my 01 since I have always used Lucas Injector Cleaner which I put in the gas tank. I was thinking of using it on my 01 F150 but alot of you say it is not good for the drive by wire. I believe I saw this on the truck and might do some more searching to see of they are similar.

the easiest way to clean the E-TB is to turn your egnition t"ON" but do not start car, have someone floor the gas pedal and hold it while you clean the TB without touching the plate. Should not throw a cel nor need any reproggraming if done right.

Best way to clean your TB is to just take it off the car, clean it, and reinstall it, the whole process should take less than 20 minutes.

Here's my "write up"

remember you have to be very careful doing this. you have to cover all you other sensors which reads the throttle body and the camshafts . if you spray that its over and your 3.5 will run like a 1.8. make sure that you put a body towel under your intake spray but not too much especially in the engine . you can dissconnect the connector the black tube that is near the sensor and spray in there . make sure you wipe the TB assap. if not sure just have nissan do it . they will do a better job . i think its like 100 or 150 new TB cost 326. new sensors cost 243.

cleaning time

so I cleaned my intake with sea foam this morning and WOW, there was a lot of white smoke. I think I overdose with sea foam cause my engine died, but didn't put more then 1/3 pint. That's true that your car is like new, quiet as hell after sea f. On a highway couldn't believe that is my 02 max. When came back cleaned MAF and throttle body again(last time was 4-5 months ago). After that just reset my CPU and air plate position and DONE! Now waiting for my new sparks NGK GP Platinium

actually I'm not sure, what I did first was all learning procedures and later ECU reset.

But what I was concerned about for past weeks or months was my idle on dashboard(don't mistake with engine, if you can say the diffrenece between 850-750, I can't). Doesn't really want to go down so smooth. not because of cleaning just start being slow in going down when I ex. stop on traffic lights. Today getting to start my car, ignition-->running engine and then closing my door. At this moment I could see before door closed 850(and it would go down to 750, but slowly) I close my door and idle gets 100 down INSTANTLY. Is it something with linkage or something ??!! Anybody knows?!

Mine has been between 700 and 800. When I stop it falls to 800, another second later to 700. I'm going to dropping her off next week and let the dealership mess with it. I have tried the re-learns and not been successful.

Best way to clean it is to remove it and spray it down with throttle body cleaner.
