Wheel Width 2000 SE 17"

I know this should be in tire/wheels but it is specific to my 2000 SE with 17" wheels. Just need to know what the stock wheel width is for 17"s in 2000?
Buying new tires and deciding on 225/45 WR17 (7"-9" width / 25.2" diamter) or 235/45 WR17 (7.5" -9.5" width / 25.5" diameter). Want to stay as close as possible to original 225/50/17 but that size isn't available in the tire I am going to buy (Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S #2 rated on TireRack.com)

Mod... move to T/W thread if needed... don't really want to start a tire discussion... just a quick answer since I am wearing out my Google Key trying
to find the wheel width.

Check the wheel/tire forum for all the info on rim widths and tire sizes. They're 7" wide.

I checked the wheel/tire forum but by the time I got to page 4 and still hadn't found the info I turned here. In wheel/tire forum there is TONS of posts on larger wheels, etc... but not much as far as stock specs. I thought they were 7" but wasn't sure

235/45/17's will be fine on the 7" rim. Tons of people (including myself) run them on the stock 17's.

You run the Conti extreme contacts don't you? Seems I remember that from a week or so ago... I decided to go with Pirelli P Zero Nero because of the great ratings on tirerack.com

Yeah I do, the Pirelli's are good tires as well. Hope you like them!

Stock 17s are 7" wide. It's not recommended to run 235tires on those although many people do. The other option you have is do get 225/45-17 tires. There will be 4% speedometer error but your car will be safer and also handle better. With 235/45-17 the error will be 2%

BTW, you chose really good tires but if I remember correctly, you were looking for tires that will handle good in snow. According to tirerack ratings they are not the best for snow driving among all-season tires. I was ganna recommend them to you back when you were choosing the tires but changed my mind right after reading about where you live.

even underinfalted they suck....IMO they just suck overall....I mean it gives me such a floaty feeling when taking corners....not only that, they spin so easily everytime I get on the gas....not good!

my previous tires were yokohamas....they gripped very well

I decided to not worry all that much about the snow since I have my Baby Bronco II beast... I have more $$$ in the Bronco than I do in the Max... Long story. Let me just say that there isn't much new or un-tweaked about it. Skis on the roof indicate that it is our 4 passenger snow mobile. When we take a road trip I always check the weather forcast... (duh) and if it looks crappy, we take the Bronco.

ha-ha... than you have nothing to worry about. (well, almost nothing - since they don't come in OEM size)

I'm sure I could smoke any tire if I dropped the clutch
at 5000rpms Chirping the tires is not on my all time list of things
to do anymore... besides... My wife gets pissed off when I drive like that.
What pisses me off is when we got our first Maxima and even more so now,
I can never find a poser in a Honda with japtrap and giant wing when I want
to show off...
