Please help!!!... my fuel door wont open

Anyone have any idea wat it cud be?. I hit the button, and it sounds like it wants to work, and releases, but only like a half a cm, then wen i let go of the button, it goes back. I had to call in sick to work today, cuz i close to no gas in my car. I need this fixed by sunday, but have no idea where to even start. Any input/ advise is most aprececiated. Thanks in advance>

maybe have someone hit the button while ur pulling on it with a credit card or some other thin sturdy something that can get down the opening side of the door maybe u can give it enough force to pop it open. then check to see if anything was blocking the mechanism.

Try popping and then putting pressure on the inside of the door - i.e. the side closer to the passenger door. That's what I have to do, it's really annoying.

Sounds like it is frozen shut... any new snow or rain/sleet? clean the car?

I would get it into a heated garage or take a hair dryer to it and see if it pops then.

That happens to me every so often, what seems to happen is the latch gets caught half open. Try pushing in the door to close it all the way, then pop it again. If not try using something like a credit card to pop it open, something sturdy that won't scratch your car. Those doors werent designed all that well, so problems are bound to arise.

A testament to American ingenuity....

you didn't think to use your key to pull the door open once you "popped" it? Mine has been doing this for over a year now...
