I use the regular stocks............For a short while I used regular halogens that were rated at a higher wattage, but when I found out that i'm eventually going to melt the headlight lense (because it's plastic) I went back to stocks.

The best halogen I've used and researched are:

Stock replacement with more output: Philips VisionPlus or GE Megalightplus

For similar output plus color (blue): Philips Power2Night GT150 The reason Why I like this one is because it is clear glass with a blue tip. It doensn't necessarily tint the light thereby reducing output--like the Silverstars or other tinted bulbs, rather it's more of a reflector. I compared this to my Sylvania Silverstars and there is no competition. They blew the Silverstars out of the water.

Whatever you do, do NOT get Sylvania SilverStars like the post above said. I put SilverStars in the car I had before my I30 and they blew out after about 6-8 months. I thought it was a fluke, but when the new SilverStars that I replaced the originals with also blew, I got even more suspicious. I went on this and other forums, and sure enough, many others had similar problems. They do produce a good light, but STAY AWAY!!!

I would suggest going with PIAA bulbs. You can get a pair for around $40.00 on eBay. Good luck!

That depends on bulb type. The H4 size made for Maxima's tend to have similar to OE quality. H1 and some other sizes have had premature burnout issues. Personally, I would never recommened PIAA ever, they're incredibly overpriced. I'd stick with Philips or GE because they offer OEM quality at a reasonable price.

Ultinons are 6000k BTW. Great bulbs though. Sorry this doesn't have anything to do with halogens
