weird grinding noise from front left wheel well

today as im pulling into a parking spot, i had my wheels turned all the way to the left...all of a sudden i hear this terrible noise from the left wheel well, like a grinding of some sort, high pitched as well...also last week i jumped onto a grass road divider and skid about 20 ft across...i tried reproducing the noise to hear it again and i was only able to do it 2 more times...now its not there anymore and i tried numerous times...what could've it possibly been??

-thanks

dave

Check your CV boots to see if they are cracked/ripped.

it is certainly the steering bump stop caps. the plastic caps eventually wear through and then the bump stop metal ends make the noise when they hit the lower control arm when turned all the way.

you can get new bump stop caps for about 2$ at the dealer...
