UDP questions! assistance needed

UDP questions! assistance needed
just a link to my question about my brother's 99 in the 4th gen forum. mods please allow. i figured the udp install is so similar on the 4th and 5th gens, that the fellow 5th genners would offer some good info here. please help!

Do you have any pics of it installed?
I would take it off, inspect it for where it might be rubbing and go from there. If there is no sign of rubbing on the pully, your problem is elsewhere.

Was this a brand new pulley or did you get this from an older max like 01 or before and put on your 2k2. THe reason i ask this is that the vq30 has an extra ring that goes on the udp while the vq35 doesnt. I had an unorthodox udp from my 2000 max that i put on my 2k2 and i just took off that extra ring.
Also. The tensioner should obviously move up and down. Did you loosen the bolt the pulley is on before adjusting the tensioner? or try to make the tensioner go up and down first.

The UDP is on his brothers 99 Max, not his 02. He asked in here as well as the 4th gen forum since the installs are similar.
