2002 Max Wheel Bearing Replacement

not sure where to post this.

my wheel bearing blew on my passenger front. i feel like the shop is going to rip me off. i was wondering how much other org members paid to have their wheel bearing replaced.

Can you tell me the symptoms you had before the wheel bearing went out?

My car is making a loud humming, "wooooo" sound around 40mph from the front passenger's side. It stops when I turn right (aka take load off of the passenger's side).

I'm not sure if it is tire noise, a brake issue, or wheel bearing. Can you help?

BTW, I have searched, and I just was looking for a first-hand explanation. I'm not sure if the sound I'm hearing is wheel bearing noise or not. I'm trying to investigate, ya know?

Glad you could drop yours off, Eddie. Mine's no longer under warranty

Hey, EddiexAhn....how did it go at the dealership? Did they argue with you or just replace them? I had mine done about two months ago. They argued a little at first but I told about all the .ORG members getting it done under warranty. Let's know how it turned out!

I didn't argue with eddie, he called me up and dropped it off, needs a hub as well on r/f, BTW the .org members suck esp when they start being ******.

I had mine replaced a few months ago. It definately IS covered under the powertrain warranty (60000 miles).

I just had my '03 in the dealership for the 2nd time in under a year because of this problem. The last time, they replaced the p/f bearing/hub under warranty without issue.

When I took it in this time (last week) they informed me that it was the p/r bearing that had gone. But, that they wouldn't cover it under insurance because my "wheel was bent, which caused the issue and wasn't a fault of the parts." Well, I took the car to my friend's shop where they inspected ALL 4 bearings. It wasn't the p/r that was bad, it was the d/r. Talk about moronic.

I can't wait until I get the survey asking me about how my service was. I promise you that it will not be very kind.
