Could my speedo be off?

Haha, just re-read my title, no its not a thread of me trying a bikini bathing suit thats too small- lol anyway has anybody had, on any generation maxima, their speedometer off and need to be re-calibrated? Ive heard of this problem on the new altimas but not here, my g/f just got an 02 alti and we got next to each other on a straight highway, she was doing 75 and i was doing 70, so i was like no big deal, its off like most altimas. she has a loaner car due to a mix-up, its an 05 altima, tried it again and she did 65 while i was at 60. not sure what could cause that, i have OE stock 17's, havent had anything drivetrain-wise changed that i know of.

I dont know how to "tune" your spedo, I would also like to know. I replaced my 15'' with 16'' and my spedo is fast ~3-4mph. I drive long distances with GPS so I can get the exact speed to sly the cops.

A quick and dirty way to test it is between mile markers on the interstate using a stopwatch. Obviously, at 60 mph, the time should be 60 seconds. If it's close, you can test it for longer distances to get a better feel for it.

Nah. Highway signs are so horrifically imperfect. Check your girlfriend's tire size and see if it's in spec.

But consider this..our true OEM tire size is 205/65-15. A 225/50-17 tire is actually out of spec by 1.4%.

OK, then make it the white markers the police use to catch speeders off airplanes. All you need to know is the spacing and I'm sure you'll tell us...

It is computer controlled so the dealer has to do it. I would check your tire height.
