Just wanted to say "hey" since this is my first post. I saw your car at Maxima Day and you have a sweeet ride.

But my question is the specs show that the eibach pro-kits don't lower the max as much as the HRs. Is that true? and are the pro-kits any good? Thanx.

The drop with H&R's is lower than the Eibachs. However the Eibachs are more performance oriented in comparison to the H&R's. The Eibachs are stiffer while the H&R's ride kind of like the stock springs from what I hear.

Having been in cars with both... yes, the Eibachs are MUCH stiffer.

[edited to correct my stupidity]

H&R's are stiffer or Eibachs are stiffer?

do you have them reversed?

mdeal & anyone else who installed H&R/shocks

1) did you cut off your bumpstops on your H&R springs?

2) did you get an alignment after installing shocks/springs

i'm STILL waiting to install my springs/shocks b/c i STILL cant find a good alignment shop here!

Answers:
1) Yes, one "round" of bump stop was removed.
2) Yes, I got an alignment. The car will drive fine, giving a false impression. The toe was out of whack on mine. I got the alignment to save my tires. I also threw on some Tokico's at the same time as the springs.

mdeal: thanks... it looks tight. how much did the HR drop your max by and is a camber kit needed? i used to drive an integra gsr with progress springs. dropped the car about 2.5". that was too much for me.

UMD_MaxSe: thanks too... even though the Eibachs don't drop as much, they are better performance than HRs? so lower does not equal better performance? if so, i might get the eibachs then.

One more thing, are they both progressive type springs. i'm getting confused with the eibach saying it's progressive in their ads but from what i recall, they were linear type springs before.

Shinnjee, the drop was pretty much as advertised. The car rides BETTER than my SE did stock. I believe the H&R springs made the car lower, but the combination of H&R springs and Tokico's shocks made for a better ride, plus the handling characterists improved.

Interesting observation. I notice no-one has bothered to comment on this aspect of lowering their cars. And while I haven't personally read any stats on this, I'll bet it's true.

See if you can find out where your dad got his info from and let us know. Thanks.
