breaking noise

When I get up in the morning and go to school or work I hear a grinding noise in my brake as I press them. It also does this when I leave work or school in the afternoon. This only happens the first few times I step on the brakes. I thought it was caused from like the moisture (in the morning). I looked at my rotors and brakes and they are both fine. Anyone know what could be causeing this?

My Maxima does the same thing if I leave it outside over night. If I park it in the garage overnight I don't hear or feel the grinding in the morning when I leave for work.

Also as soon as I get out of a car wash..I'd assume its the moisture..

Its surface rust that built up on the rotars. It happens to all cars. Your brake pads are just grinding it off to re-seat themselves. Nothing to worry about my friend.

ya, our rotors rust real fast so its just taking off all of that surface rust, no big deal. if it really bugs you you have to get nickel or zinc plated rotors so they dont rust
