Which one do you think is better?!?!
Does the HID fogs light output that much more than that of the Lexus Capsule.....i'm thinking of course....but i saw some bright *** pictures of the lexus capsule...WHAT DO YOU THINK!>?!?

 

just remove the fog lights entirely....the yellow capsules are especially lame

 

dig up that great thread with comparisons. i guess i can't really give any input on how it is with 5th gens, but the 4th gen fogs really aren't that effective in terms of light and i would only do the capsule mod as more of a cosmetic type of mod.

I thought you liked the capsules, according to your own head to head yellow bulbs to capsule thread....or was that sarcasm?

and what are you saying? jus don't have fog lights?

 

Personally I like the HID. Cuz if you think about it, if many people wanna take the amber blinkers off, why pay the money and get more yellow lights? And from the picture, I highly doubt those are really effective as lights. HID should be more useful and in my opinion better looking if cost is not a factor for you.

 

Yellow fog lights are alot different and 1000x cooler than the horrid amber that these cars have stock.
IE

 

the capsule is still being used with a halogen bulb so it won't be brighter than HID.

HID FOGS in 3000k are tight they charge up green and then turn yellow it looks real nice.... my friend has it on his pathfinder......

 

hids are better, but when you blink your highs, the fogs turn off/on. i dont know what kind of effect this has on the ballasts and bubs. yellow capsules are 5-6 times cheapers. and yellow bulbs are probably 10x cheaper than hid fogs. it's all about how much you want to spend.

 

there is a write up on this site somewhere and on someone's site on Cardomian, on how to wire your lights so the fogs don't shut off when you flash your highbeams.

 

Capsules will look a lot yellower, but the HID will have much better output.

I have the capsules and love them. I think they look better than HID, and am not worried about output because I have pleanty with my lowbeams.

If I were to change things again I would put a mini HID kit in with the capsules... Or a projector retro. Then I could have the color AND output.

 

Know any project retro that would fit inplace of the fogs??

in the large comparison thread, Dr. Roy's setup is HID bulbs WITH yellow capsules. Why not just get the 6k HID and spend the extra $25 and get capsules and do both. The capsules are just a capsule. SO having the halogen bulb is not even close to as bright as an HID. If you want brightness and yellow, try the 3k or just get the 4300 or 6k HID and capsule. Cannot go wrong with yellow fogs! Mine are stock halogen bulbs.

 

ok so i'm now leaning more towards the capsules only reason is cuz its cheaper and the light output doesn't look horrid, it actually looks better than stock, another thing is that i'm worried that if i flash someone it might mess up the HIDs because its not good to turn them on and off.....


BUT i'm havin a SUPER hard time contacting HIDtech.....Does anyone know who else is selling the Capsules?

another thing i'm planning to do the reto dr roy did with the projectors and the HIDs on the regular headlights....Doesn't the low beams turn off and on when you flash someone?

 

I would install the projectors into the stock housings... I was thinking TSX projectors might do the trick. They are pretty small.

As for contacting HIDtech, I just paypaled them $37 for the capsules and shipping. I left a note in the commects box that it was payment for 9006 Lexus yellow capsules... A few days later I received my capsules.

 

Personally I like my HID fogs... when they work that is. I have them in 6000k and they match my lows, looks awesome at night. Plus I use them with my DDEs, because I am a gangster like that

 

if you got the money to spend on fogs, then get the HID. people get the capsules or the yellow bulbs, because they dont think its necessary to put in HIDs on fogs, or just too cheap to put them on. me, im too cheap, and dont wanna waste my money on HID fogs. id rather spend it on a RSB or springs. but its your car so mod it how you like it.

 

I had the capsules but I have switched to the 3000k HID.

 

whats their pay pal account? and umm what the hell do you do if u don't get the capsules? jus give away $37?
