It seems as if the 2002 Max is not really any different from the 2000, 2001. I don't understand why everyone is griping. I am pretty sure the HID lights can be swapped into the 2000-01 because the assembly looks the same (which I wouldn't mind doing). So we won't have 260 hp. I personally think, if you want gobs of power- you should have that torque delivered from the rear wheels - save up and buy an M3 and then you will definitely BE DRIVEN. The max is a great car and I love mine, but it is not an M3 or a true performance car- to me it is simply a family car that has *****. IT is a whole heck of a lot better than any accord or camry but it is not a car that turns heads or pulls g's.

Sorry

I wasn't attempt to contest that the Maxima with the likes of an m3. I am just saying it defines a particular niche. I love my max--i want to get the stillen kit, etc. But I feel it is the best sedan for it's price range compared to the likes of the accord and camry. I just feel it doesnt compete with acuras, bimmers, etc-- they are higher end. I feel if you want pure performance, you should opt for rwd also. anyhow - IT DOES SEEM THAT YOU CAN SWAP THE HIDs from the 2002, right?

Only problem I can see with the lights is going to be the wiring harness. Definately going to be different since there are 2 bulbs instead of one.

Re: Sorry

soon we will find out in the summer...if it fits and looks like those on S2000, I will sure to get one =)
about RWD....even though it is faster in certain way....u lost some control and stability on cornering. there is always a downside of something. maybe AWD?

Your opinions are valid, except one. I have to disagree that the Max doesn't turn heads. I have gotten zillions more head turns in my Max than my best friend who has a Acura CLS. The max looks much sportier than the "old man" cars and thus catches peoples eyes much more often. In my area, BMW's and Acura's are a dime a dozen, everyone has them so they are no that spectacular anymore..kinda likea Honda or Toyota product on uniqueness for owner BUT not everyone has a Max. Although they are great cars, they don't sell the volume that Honda and Accord does so we do get to keep our Uniqueness when seen on the street.

Just my 3 cents!

I agree

There are much less maximizies out there than other makes, which I guess makes them unique

If you want to see the HID's in person... rumor has it that the 2002 Maxima will show up at Maxus. Check out the Maxus Fourm.
