So i went to drop off two friends in the city today from queens. On my way to manhattan i took the LIE, and let me tell you my new 2k1 max took a beating today
Driving in the city streets was even worse. All these huge unavoidable pot holes everywhere. i feel like my car is not new anymore with its 300 miles on it. i feel so violated

I know how you feel...

I felt the same way when I first drove my car down to the city to pick up my girl... It had about 150 miles on it at the time. I was so ****ed at the time b/c I had gone over so many potholes and had to slam on the brake alot b/c of those stupid cabbie drivers..

You guys wouldn't want to drive here in Boston. Lots of potholes, narrow streets, double-parked cars, The Big Dig, and bumper-to-bumper most of the day, and lots of reckless drivers doing stupid things.

Try driving in downtown Chicago a few times. Especially with this damn Wacker Drive Project that will be going on for the next 2 years. I am generally easygoing until I hit downtown Chicago. That's when I get extremely aggressive because of pedestrians, bus drivers, cabbies, and bike messengers.

Yup, if you live in the rust belt or northeast better not spend too much on aftermarket wheels unless you get good ones like BBS or something that can withstand the beating of the bad roads we drive on unlike the sun belt areas. Just saw a guy with some 22's on a Escalade that were all beat to he**.

3 new tires in 3 days

My girlfriend bought a second hand Civi hatch, it comes with 17 inches rims with TOYO 205/40ZR17.
She drove 3 days, and each day bought one band new TOYO tire. First day in Manhattan, village. Second day, Brooklyn, Prospect Ave. The third day, BQE. One of the tire only 2 days new....totally, she paid $450.
any recommand tire size?

my car accident happened in NY, 34th and 8th avenue.
Freaking guy is trying to sue me, the accident happened at less than 5mph. His car had no damage, cause he had a chrome/metal bumper. My door was F**ed up though. That crumplezone metal stuff kinda sucks, but i guess it does what is supposed to.
ANyway back to the NY thing, i hate to drive in the city.

You ain't seen no pothole 'till you seen Montreal Pot Holes (Pat. Pend.) They are nuts!

I am not joking, we lost a dumptruck in one one year. (I am not joking, really! A section of road gave way under a dumptruck, no sh|t!)

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of driving through NYC.

As I'm approaching Manhattan, I get these news reports of some jerk that's going to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge, that NYC has the thing shut down, and that the BQE is all f*cked up.

I'm from Chicago. I desperately try to find out what the heck a BQE is, only to find out *I'M ON IT!* (I only went through the city to get to Nathan's. Had I known, I could have gone elsewhere for a hot dog... )

Then I find out that the guy is climbing the Brooklyn Bridge, and is taunting the cops. After 30 minutes of this, I'm ready for the cops to shoot this guy off the bridge.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the guy? I hope they slowly removed his *********...

Had the pleasure of visiting NY a month ago and I can definitely join the complaint on potholes on the LIE. It gets even worse when they're doing construction in the middle of the day. Ended up taking the train the last couple days from Long Island into Manhattan...much better.

Driving non the LIE isn't driving, it's crawling. I was there last weekend, and the people there -even when it wasn't raining- just ain't got no cull-cha.

It's great here in Texas, where we watch out for hmmm, cows.
