I can tell Honda makes the engine just by the pathetic amount of torque they always have.

Aite here's the story:

I own a 2000 nissan maxima GLE. I took it with me to college in upstate ny. and i happen to be in an automotive program. This was in 2004. Some guy was working on my car i forgot what it was but he pull the wheels and supposely torqued it back to specs.

next day, me and my friend installed an addco rsb on the max. we wanted to test it out and the spanish guy who was working on my car the day before told us about this route 51......its suppose to be a mountain road with hairpins and deep curves like in initial d. So we drove for like 45 min......and we still havent found route 51 so we thought this guy was bull****ting us......but i decided to drive some more......and to my amazement.....came the sign of route 51........we got on it goin north for about 10min.....and it was just a regular road......i was so pissed.......then after driving a lil bit more it turned into a road that curves just like what you see in initial D......but it's a very narrow two way mountain road. The signs on the curves were 10mph to 20mph limits. .....i was so happy and immature......i went nuts and started speeding up.............then came the dangerous curves........believe it or not i was going at least 40-50mph over the speed limit on the curves........i still remember doing 70mph on a 15mph curve........it was the funnest and scariest thing i ever did. I had two of my friends in my car with me and they were crying for their dear life. I'm not going to lie......my maxima didnt eat up that turn for breakfast......the tires were screeching and i knew it was the handling limit of the maxima but it was very predictable. That road was tons of fun....u have no idea......it was like turn after turn after turn.....i had to concentrate 110%......i was concentrating so hard i was actually tearing while i was driving. But the adrenaline rush is just amazing.

Keep in mind that my maxima was basically stock.......it had fstb, rsb, and a set of continental contixtreme contact tires. It changed my opinion of the maxima's handling capabilities.

What i didnt tell you and dont really wanna say was that I almost hit a oncoming buick while speeding through those blind curves........and the worst of alll....the next day we found out my front wheel lug nuts were basically finger tight. =O (remember the guy who worked on my car and sed he torqued it back to spec? apparently his torque stick was broken.)

just picture the fatalities that could've happened........going 75 on a 15mph curve with finger tight lugnuts next to a canyon. the only thing between me and the canyon was the maxima and some filmsy guard rail. it was a miracle or the grace of god that nothing happened to us.

We all make mistakes when we're young......but never will i do something so stupid again!

I dunno, his story reeks of BS. 75mph around 15mph curve in a stock Maxima?
