Gettin my Custom Subframe Connectors done Soon Step inside for More Info

Hey guys I am getting out of school around the 10th of may and I will be bringin my car to a local shop (http://www.nakutischoppers.com/) to get custom SFCs built. These guys used to do custom hot rods as well for years but recently have mainly focused on bikes and general automotive work. I was going to get the SFCs done this past winter but my engine sucked a bolt and it took months to resolve that issue. The only downside is that I am gonna be without a car for at least a week. I have a couple ideas on how to make the cross braces (what warpspeed would call stage2) feel more permenant while keeping them as bolt ons and I would show them to you guys but I dont know how to accuratly describe them to you with words and I dont have enough drawing skills to make a diagram. Anyway I will be posting pics and a full review once I get this work done and I want to know how many people would be interested in getting SFCs for their 5th gens if everything goes well with this first set? The guy at the shop quoted me 300$ for fabrication and install.

Let me know

P.S. question to the guys out there that have a lot of welding experience, is there any problem with welding tubing to a solid piece of very high carbon steel?

So long as there is a full-thickness weld between the two surfaces, it'll be fine. Just ensure that at the tangent of the tube to the frame the area to be welded does not have any gaps. (I don't know if that's all the best descriptor)

Do these guys know what they are doing or are you providing them design specs or what? I might be interested, but MA is a bit far for me. I'm not going to get too excited until I see the final product on someone's car. I'm not holding my breath though. Too many deals on custom SFC have fallen through lately.

While I give you credit for the effort, there have been many of these threads in the past, all of which have led to nothing. How about posting a thread on this AFTER the SFCs are made and installed on the car?

+1 for posting after sfcs. i have been disappointed by many threads stating "i am getting these soon", and nothing ever comes out.
if this shop would fabricate a template, and sell them after successfully getting them on your car, i would buy them.
i think there are several-to-many people here that would buy readily availible and quality sfcs.
can you please try and see these through, and post pix? im all over it after that.

I will deff try and see them through. I hope you dont consider my last post about SFCs a dissapointment cause it never went through, like I said my engine sucked a bolt the day before I was supposed to go in to get the SFCs fabricated so I had bigger fish to fry now I'm ready to go again.

I am not sure if he would be interested in making kits like dallas did, as I remember him saying he likes to fit each car individually, but I dont see any reason why he wouldent serve people in the local area, which is New England
