Spectre Module Intake 00-01

Bought this intake for roughly $90cdn only, after taxes. They say its CAI..I haven't installed it yet as they are waiting for the MAF adaptor. Here is a pick. Can someone help describe how this is CAI? it looks short ram to me. Where would the filter sit? Also do I need the piece from the throttle to the MAF?

Looks like you are gonna hafta hook it up to that peice between the maf and throttle body, unless it came with some extra hosing and connectors for em.

I guess the filter would go behind the battery if you take out the piece between the maf and tb.

EDIT: i have that same thing, my friend had it sitting in his garage and i saw it n he said i could have it so i kinda modded mine to work with my car, you do not replace the peice that goes between the maf and tb, i didnt use all of my peices, ill put up some pics if i can find my memory stick for my camrea

to be honest, that doesn't look like it will fit the maxima. Maxima short-rams are much shorter, and the only true CAI for the maxima, the Place Racing/Cattman setup, looks like this, which appears to have much different bends than the one you have:

hey irsih, that intake is multiple picees, not 2 big ones

This is how mine is set up i only used the sensor looking peice and two straight pipe peices

I used Two of these:

This one, i modified it slightly so that the sensor would fit in there:

To modify the short peice shown above,First take out one of the plugs and the rubber thing thats around the hole, next take out the sensor and rubber peice that is in the stock air box scoop shown here:

Then bore out the hole on the short pipe peice so that the rubber piece that you took out of the stock air box scoop fits snugly, then put the sensor in there and you are good to go!

Most injens lose all their low-end. Short ram is better than Injen. The hottest air in the engine bay is behind the radiator, where the Injen sucks from...

yeah, you will probably have better performance if you put it behind the battery like me
