It is an auto.

I was driving, had to slam on the breaks, and came to a full stop. When I could move again I pressed the gas and the engine revved, then a second or 2 later it slammed into gear (1'st). Then later I was driving down the road and slowed down to turn onto a side street, and when I accelerated out of the turn it again revved and jolted into gear.

125000 on the max. I think it is a slip. because I jsut took it out again and when I stopped at a stop sign, same thing. went to move again, it revved up, then dropped into gear and i lunged forward again.

This sucks.

Hrmmm...it feels like the car is neutral dropping, eh? That's some severe slippage and it isn't normal. Take the car home, unplug the battery and let the car sit untouched for a few hours. Plug it back, and if the problem persists take it to Nissan.

Yeah, take it to Nissan. They can hook up the CONSULT and see what is actually going on with the transmission. Did your O/D light flash or blink anytime while driving? This is sometimes a sign that something is wrong with the transmission. Nissan can pull the faulty code and see what he problem is.

I would try this first if it doesnt work go to a tranny shop cause they'll do an analasyst first for free most likely. For saying take it to nissan you should be x 50 plus that other guy that said take it to nissan also.

Yeah, just deal with it, and take it to the tranny shop where they don't absolutley know nothing about Maximas so they can mess up your car even more like that other guy said.
