Anybody used Nissans corrosion warranty?

I had noticed some rust on the front of my hood, went to look at it and saw all the little tiny chips in the paint on my front bumper and hood, thats redicoulous, i didnt think it was that bad til i looked! Anyway, theres two bigger ones in the very front of the hood that have started to rust and some on the lip where the hood closes, now should i just sand it off and use some touchup til i can get it re-painted or wait til it actually rusts a hole and get it re-done by nissan? We have what, an unlimited mileage 96 month corrosion warranty right? Are they good with this or is it usually a big problem trying to get this work done

I used to think the same thing...but in the corrosion warranty it specifically says does not cover normal wear and tear. I think they'd classify as those chips.

You're out of luck on that. Nissan will not cover any rust spots caused by paint chips. A lot of people have tried, but failed.

I believe that only applies to rust through as far as the warranty is concerned. You should repair it with one of those chip repair kits that scrap the rust off. Then primer and cover it with touch up paint. No use in letting it rust any further.

If you have your car professionally detailed for like $150, they will take all the rust off and you can touch up everything yourself. They also buff all the scratches, clean the ac system so it doesn't smell, shampoo the carpets, etc etc.. I do this once a year and it's really worth it.

I have rust on the lip and under the hood, after 3 years I had it on my 01, nissan did nothing, dealer did nothing...very mad...signed up for this class action lawsuit through Seth Zalkin in NY... found out 2years later now that it was dropped. Cannot win.

Well, all i know is that the paint on the bumpers is absolute s**t. Nissan should be ashamed at the paint they put on these cars. I bumped the rear bumper very slightly and the f-ing paint just started peeling off. WTF? Why can't the japanese put good paint on a car? Say what you want about GM but my 2000 Grand Prix still looks like new after a wash and the paint is very thick. Very frustrating going to the power car wash and seeing the f-ing paint peel right off your bumper.

my first pic was into the trunk with the trunk open. The second is of that same area, just with the trunk closed, so you can see what i see everytime i look at the back of my car. The reflection on the paint in the second pic is the reflection of the left taillight and the maxima emblem.
