oil and pcv valve?
oil and pcv valve?
I have seen the post on this mod to rid the oil in the air being pulled in by the intake. It's a great idea, and I've done the mod myself. Getting about 2 oz. (guessing) every 500-600 miles.
My question is with this much oil being sucked in the intake, did nissan design this to help lube something maybe in the intake? What are ya'lls thoughts on this?

no. air needs no lubrication.
I realize the air nees no lube, but I was thinking about the past a little when I posted the question. In the early days lead was used in gas. This was to aid in lubing the valves. As much as I've messed with engines and cars, this is one thing I"ve just never even thought about, and took time to learn about. I wasn't sure if the oil in the air some how aidded in lubing the valve guides, or something. Just seems wierd nissan and orther car makers would allow so much oil to be cycled through with no real purpose.
