Wow it makes a BIG difference!
Wow it makes a BIG difference!
just got my Custom Maxima front strut bar installed today. wow does it make a difference... torqued all the bolts to 30lbs and used a towel wrapped crow bar to give a lil push on it before putting in the last bolt so it pushes against the strut mounts... it feels a million times stiffer on the front end and it isnt even close to the I.M... i love it

RSB does make a good difference but I have to say the FSTB did make a difference as well. And I have to say that I feel neither of them actually makes a difference in increasing the limits of the car, well maybe the RSB would make a marginal difference but very tiny. I think both of these mods really just improve handling feel.
yeah.. i dont think there is a need to jack the car up.. just dont have 1 tire 6 inches above the other lol... yeah pushing against that bar and creating some push i think helped alot... with only man power we probably only moved it like a 1/16 of an inch anyways but im sure the force helps.

In feel yes... but in terms of actual limits... I dont think it makes that much of a difference. But surprisingly, which no one talks about, I felt the RSB made my car much more stable at high speed. I was cruising on the highway yesterday after installing the bar and looked down and I was doing 95 and didnt realize it. The car felt much more solid at those speeds that I didnt even realize I was going that fast.

Auto-X drivers will love FSTB cuz it allows them to precisely place the wheels where they want them, sometimes at extreme turning angles and high angular velocity.
Haha, just kidding. None of what I said is true. If the FSTB doesn't make much difference, take it off... it's added weight anyways.

That makes a huge difference to the front just like a sway bar but even more. On the potholes it feels much more dense, like the car wants to fall apart but its holding it tight from both sides.

The FSTB was the first, or one of the first suspension mods I did and it eliminated about 90% of the torque steer.
I also felt a difference in my front end when I installed the FSTB...
It much more planted, especially in sweeping turns and I also felt less torque steer.
No it is not a HUGE difference, but they do make a gerneral improvement on the Maxima.
Edit: I can give you guys a tip; if you find that it is not making a difference... Pour Seafoam all over the bar and your strut towers, you will make F1 cars look like pussbags in the corners.

I read this thread and personally think that it all depends on the wear and tear of the struts on each vehicle. I felt a major difference with rubber to road contact after just the FTSB. I really don't think it has anything to do with the manufacturer making a "better" one then the next. I have Cattman's and Stillen's. They do the same thing. I did PERSONALLY feel the difference though.
