Handling idea which I'm not sure has been brough up before
Alright guys as you all know I'm always thinkin about how to make the max handle better. It has been brought up before that running wider tires up front or stickier rubber is known to work at countering some of the understeer charachteristics of the maxima but we all know that would look pretty silly. So I was wondering what if someone ran a 8.5 in rim up front with 245s and 8 in out back with 225 or 235s and then to counter the silly look they used the H&R 20 mm spacer kit to push the rear wheels out more. That should make the tires and wheels look the same in the wheel well given the height of the tire is close. Not only would it help the handling of the car in terms of understeer but I know the delorean (and I know this may have no correlation with our car) handled so well because of its wedge shape. It was wider in the back than it was in the front. Using the spacers only in the back could help VERY slightly in this regard as well, but I am just trying to think of other ways this would be a cool modification. What do you guys think? The biggest problem I see is matching the height of the tires on a 225 with the height on a 245 because a 225/40/17 deff has a different height than a 245/40/17 tire.

Widening track in the back will make the car understeer more. So, to answer the question you need to know which of these two changes (wider tires in the front, wider track in the rear) will affect handling to a greater degree.
