It looks like your problem cleared up by itself. Cars are like women, you can never figure out what is brewing up inside.

I did run the car with the MAF and air temp disconnected. the car idled the same as if bothe were plugged in. So these cannot be the source of the rough idle.

so am i lead to believe that tightening the hose up did or did not clear up your issue Frisco? the way i read it looks like it did not fix the issue so you put the short ram back on and viola, it was back to normal. please advise.

ok, wtf!!! today i decided to take my car for a test drive to figure out what's not working correctly. Some of you who had coil issues know that when coils are not working right, your car shakes when at a stoplight or foung like 2-3mph. well, i stopped on a level surface and gradually took my foot off the brake pedal just so that brakes drag the car and do not let it accelerate past 2mph. and guess what, i can feel SUPER SLIGHT misfire. It is so slight that i highly doubt any person would notice it if he wasn't looking for it. I do not realize why the damn thing misfires!!! it has 6 brand new updated coils in it with about 150 miles on them. it also has a brand new MAF with about 90 miles on it. how the hell is it going to misfire on me?

If anyone is interested, i am running 4-tip Platimum Bosch sparkplugs. thay have about 2000 miles on them. Should i change to NGK Copper single tip? or what else should i do?

thanks.

well, finally got a hold of an OBDII scanner and pulled my codes:
got two codes:

P0420 = catalyc fiieciency below threshold (bank 1)
P0430 = catalyc fiieciency below threshold (bank 2)

obviously i erased all the codes and drove home. i cer feels a lot better, but i am sure i will be seeing more of these codes soon. i am thinking that if the codes mode back before the weekend, i will take off my CAI and put in NGK copper sparkplugs. well, i am waiting for the codes to come back now...
