shattered sunroof

I came out to my Maxima this morning to find the sunroof shattered, but still in place. The car was parked in my garage overnight, so I have no idea when this happened.

Does anyone know if the 2000-2001 will fit my 2003? The glass is still in place, so nothing else appears to be damaged.

Is it a difficult task to replace the sunroof myself?

i think the sunroof has been the same since 4th gen. my buddy has a 96, and his sunroof looks identical to mine.
if you have it replaced, go to a reputable place that has warranty. don't cheapo' out, and have it leak and make noise while driving.

thanks for the replies.

I found out my deductible is only $100...insurance is the way to go. Hopefully it will not rain between now and then!

that is weired, i mean unless the sunroof glass is really thin or cheap, i know when you heat up glass and then put cold water on it, it will crack, but thats only when glass is real thin like a cup.

actually, the thinnner the glass, the harder it is to crack. the thicker glass cracks easier because of the difference in heat/temp in the glass layers. one side cools off/heats up faster than the other, and glass cracks. this is why all the pyrex chemical bottles are thin.
