Removing Rear Struts/Springs

What a pain in the butt..... Do I have to remove the entire black metal panel that goes all around the opening to the truck???? Theres like 20 12mmm bolts holding it in, but it doesnt seem like I can get to the top of the shocks any other way!

Anyone have a quick tip or trick for me to avoid removing this huge panel?

all you need is a 6" extention or so and you can slide it down from the top, and the bottom, you just use a deep socket i believe. All i had to do was crawl into my trunk. sorry you had to remove that black metal thing.

yea it was a bummer.... it has a really sharp edge too, I cut myself in like 4 places lol. The car looks hot though, and tomorrow when the new feet arrive I'll be set..... I'll post pics.

Like Merovi said, 6-8" ratchet extension and a deep socket (14mm I think) was all you needed, but you got the job done, so that's all that matters.
