I haven't driven the 5th gen but I was close to buying one instead of my 5.5. After hearing all the comparisons, I'm real glad I didn't!

Either oil consumption or any other quirks?

I hit 142 while playing with a boosted SX 240 and a boosted Scion. 5.5 Gen 6-Speed. That was in 5th, so I would think that unless there is a cut off, 160 would be possible.

Whao., where was this thread when I was researching... Maybe I just could not find it cause I did not have the search feature back then... When I was looking I was told so many bad things about the 02's that I would have much rather bought an 01. Darn here say sucks... I had the money to buy and 02 and found a couple none that met my under 60k requirement. Hence me getting the 01 instead. I drove an 02 six speed and a 01 5 spd. I'm not a speed demon but in comparison to my stock 4cyl 5spd Accord. Both blew it away. My next car will be a Max, i love the new ones. Maybe in a couple of years. An 09. I still love the 5gen. The 01 5spd is a great car and I love it. It goes.

If you're getting an 09, you won't be getting a manual transmission. CVT only from this point out so it seems.
