What does ECU, ECM stand for. I see it on many posts relating to fuel-cut problems. While I am asking, where is the TPS located on the A/T ?

I am having problem with high compression when taking foot off of throttle, Plus my gas mileage suck. Could these two be related?

Your compression doesnt change...

ECU= Engine Control Unit
ECM= Engine Control Module

...same thing...

TPS= Throttle position sensor

It's located in the same place regardless of transmission type. It's part of the throttle body assembly...
