Hestitation during acceleration

Hestitation during acceleration
Our 2k Max just started this strange thing. When the car is cold it seems to hesistate while accelerating from a stop. It goes away after the car is running for a few minutes.
The check engine light is not on.
Anybody have any ideas what this could be? (and how much?)
Thanks in advance!!
Mike

eh i know my car and some other maxima's have shifting problems on a cold engine, ive spoke up to nissan about that issue and they said that it is normal. all nissan's should have a warm engine before driving, and our maxima's really warm up quickly. im assuming this could also be a transmission issue and i wouldn't worry about it much IMO.
but it would help to know is the hesistation a slight hesistation or a large one?

Thanks for your help. hopefully its not the tranny - however why it would be the tranny? Does the car start in 2nd? Just curious.
Its not a big hesitation - RPM sticks at 1200 for a few seconds and then kind of kicks....
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!!

I just saw the MAF Sensor thread - it definitely sounds like a MAF issue.
Thank G-d not going to cost too much - I think the thread said it would be a 150 max with reprogam...... or I can just do it myself..
Thanks again!!!

I'm somewhat getting the same problem. Under hard acceleration in 3rd gear around 4k rpms it feels like the tranny slips out of gear then catches again? its only happened once or twice but its definitely a notable loss of power. Feels like it gets pushed into neutral, freely rev's, then catches the same gear smoothly?
