I have Eibachs on Illuminas, and for the most part I'm fairly happy. When i bought my Maxima it was running Eibachs on the stock shocks and thought the ride was absolute crap. The car would bottom out all the time and it would feel like the car was going to fall apart. Now with the Illuminas installed its sports car firm. That is to say there is still something to be desired on rougher roads, but it not harsh and unbearable. If you are looking for a spring/shock combo that will give decent look/handling with great ride I'd look to H&R springs (I have no personal experience with H&R but from my research they give similar drop/handling with better ride than Eibachs). I dont think the ride on Eibachs is harsh but it certainly could be better.

It's interesting you say that, I have read from others in this forum saying the opposite of what you said about H&R and eibach. I guess it is really personal preference when it comes down to it. I haven't installed my eibach yet, i just hope they won't disappoint me with the rough rides. I have heard eibach give rougher rides compare to H&R on other cars, don't know if the same holds true for maxima. In the end of the day, I want a taut ride but certainly aren't looking for a penalty box.

Neither give a "rough" ride....the H&R is a bit cushier, but the Eibachs ride similar to stock SE springs.

Eibachs got the "rough ride" rep from 4th gen maximas, where the Eibachs were a different rate and too low, and known for a "firmer" or "harsher" ride.

For 5th gens, its different.

This is truly the thread that won't die. I remember reading it back in the day.. Anyway.

My understading is that H&R would give a cushier ride even though the drop seems to be a little more than the eibachs (according to the manufactors anyway). In your pic Irish, the car does seem to be more or less even, even with the different tires sizes. If H&R would be around the same or slightly lower than yours then I would go with the H&R's when I'm ready as I rather the slightly more comfortable ride. Overall, it is kind of hard to rate suspension as the claims people make cannot be proven like engine parts on a dino but reading everyone's opinion is always fun.

Thank you for your information Irish. Now I can't wait to find out myself about just how well the eibach will ride. Since you said the ride is similar to the stock SE springs, I am interested to see if anybody has put eibach springs through a slalom and see just how much corning improvement eibach gives?
