techno ecu or AFC? 02' 6-speed

Which would be better powerwise and pricewise getting the ecu done by technosquare or getting a air fuel controller? Which has its advantages? Is the the ecu upgrade worth the 500.00? And is there a big noticeable power from the ecu with boltons versus?
Thanks

After much research I went with the safc-II because you can tune it according to what your car needs as appose to a universal tune, which kind of sucks cause all cars are different. Also take into consideration you would have to pay for a reflash everytime you get a new mod. Just something to think about. As for the price it will end up being about the same because an afc is about 240ish or so plus about 150 (average) for dyno tunning.

If your going to spend $595 for the TS F-spec ecu...might as well go with the Greddy Emanage Ultimate...it's the same price but you can tune MUCH better with this one...I'm sure you can easily extract 10-15whp over the TS ECU with the greddy EMU...although you do have to pay a little extra to get it dyno tuned..

but to answer your original question, in my opinion, the AFC would be the better/cheaper route...

Depends, what have you done to the car and/or what are you planning to do? N/A? Nitrous? Turbo? How much time and money can you and do you want to spend on installation and tuning?

If you're just going the N/A bolt-on route and money is an issue, then a SAFC-II/VAFC-II will suffice. Even then, gains in power from those piggybacks depend on what the state of your AFR is with your mods.

Well as far as I know the TS changes your revlimiter and also fixes the drive by wire allowing you to still utilize WOT at the top of the rev range. To my understanding this is not something that you can adjust with the EU, the revlimiter I heard was in the beta version on their latest firmware for EU but not working correctly yet. So the best answer would be BOTH! That is a sh!tload of money but the emanage will allow you to fine tune A/F and ignition and the TS to fix the rev limiter and drive by wire (TS L-spec maybe?)

That is pretty much what people consider "ideal" these days: L-spec + piggyback

No one has this on an A33B ECU just yet.. Or at least no one has posted about it yet.

I believe the Emanage Ultimate can also get rid of the rev limiter, I've read that somewhere, or maybe I just need a good night of sleep.

What about the issue concerning drive by wire on A33B's? Is this in the works for EU.....that would be for the win If so that would certainly cost TS some future business from our standpoint.

According to the EU manual, it can extend the rev limiter. Has anyone ever done it successfully on a VQ? No one that I know of. Yet.
