Screw On Exhaust Tip on my 01

I want to remove the current exhaust tip on my 01... I have read through the many posts regarding this and it's a simple process BUT I can't find anything I like at the local shops... Autozone and Advance Auto Parts.

I was wondering if there was a site that I could just buy the exhaust tips and have them ship. They would have to be screw on and Stainless Steel. Something SS like.

This is the exhaust tip on my previous car ( an 01 Pathy). I want something along these lines. Of course smaller since I need TWO... Any direction would help...

i used to have screw on tips for my accord...i got them off a acura tl type s. they basically just slides on to the exhaust tip and there's a screw on the bottom that you tighten to hold it in place. but mine got stolen after a while tho =/ i think you should get the ones that are welded on so it won't get stolen haha

Yup, I had one on my Civic too, which makes me wonder if it could be done on the Max. I've never liked the squarish tip on my SE.

I have screw on tips for my 00 Max. I got them from Pepboys for $20 and they look pretty sweet. I have the Stillen rear lip and the two exhaust tips fill in the cut out perfectly. People think I have a Cattman catback exhaust on.

Here you go:

I think they look fine...I will be upgrading to an actual catback later.

Weld is preferrable. I haven't seen any screw on ones that have been straight or looked decent. So please, represent us well cause the only people in my area with screw on tips are those with spray painted body kits that are held on by 2 sided tape and they have 2 steel rims and 2 "boy racer" rims.

You're pic looks like to had a pretty nice appearance. Do it like that again.

You can install the tips from the 6th gener's muffler. When I had replaced my muffler, my original tips were banged up pretty bad to swap over to the new muffler, so I needed an alternative. I picked up a good deal on some 6th gener's tips. They are two seperate pieces, unlike the 5th gener's where they are welded together as one. All I did was drill a hole into the bottom of the tips to install over the new muffler tips. Here is a pic....

Well., money is tight and spending who knows how much on a tip., plus the cost of welding is just not in the books. Those tips look good Maximized2000 and those too Mixxmax. Let's see the current ones LOOK TERRIBLE.

You mean you drilled a hole in the new tips, then used a screw to hold it down, similar to the aftermarket ones?

You got it. The metal is real soft, so all you need is a self tapping screw. One thru the tip & thru the pipe on the muffler.
