Removing oxygen sensor w/pic

Guys,

How do I remove this o2 sensor? I've tried using an adjustable wrench but it won't budge. Are there any tricks to getting this out?

Thanks

Spray some penetrating oil (PB Blaster or even Seafoam) on it. Then go to the store and buy an o2 sensor socket (has a slot for the wires) and when you get back you can probably break it loose with the socket.

Autozone carries special tools to remove O2 sensors which can be rented. Now before trying to remove the O2 sensor, run the car for a few minutes to heat up the surfaces, spray PB Blaster and then try with this special wrench that these autostores carry!!!. Good luck!!!

to what everyone ^^^ has said. You could also warm it up with an acetylene torch after your let some penetrating spray soak in. Definately rent/buy an o2 sensor socket.

I got an O2 sensor socket at Sears for less than $10. I figure with the crappy OEM sensors I'd use it regularly...

its not really a lubricant. it eats away the rust and frees everything up

I work at an Autozone and other than WD-40, they have Pb Blaster which is suppose to melt a foam cup, Liquid Wrench, etc. All of them do the same thing. Just spray enough and torch the SOB off the car.

I wouldn't really recommend cutting the sensor "off".
