Warped Rotors
Warped Rotors
Hello all, can warped rotors cause the ride to by bumpy...When I am driving with my foot off the brake, it feels like Im hitting a whole bunch of little bumps. It shakes the steering wheel, and anything in the drink holder and vibrates the passenger seat. I thought it was the road, so I rode in a friends car...no imaginary vibrating/bumps..It feels exactly like warped rotors do when your braking on them. I know my rotors are warped, but do warped rotors make for a bumpy ride even when the brakes are not being applied??

ya, idk what the heck is causing the vibration either, I do tons of highway driving, and it is just pissing off..I have had the tire place and the dealership look at it, and they both say its normal....and they play the blame game on each other..

BAHHH First off you can not warp your rotors unless you auto cross every day and your brakes stay at high temperatures. Its your pads that suck they get glazed over and cant grip the rotors thats why you get the stuttering action, or AKA warped rotor crap. Ahhhh will you people plz plz search. Oh and your problem is probably out of balance wheels like everyone says

umm yes, our rotors do warp (and not just from auto-x). if you searched you would see that its a common problem.
the rotor itself does not actually warp you would need to heat it up till they are glowing red and then when they would cool they would change shape other wise its just the stock pads that can not with stand higher temps for a while and they get glazed. Thus they cant grip the rotors
yeah i have the same problem...for some reason, it takes about 5 times to finally balance my tires correctly, and if they aren't it's extremely annoying at highway speeds.

Go balance your tires first with a good shop around your area. If problem still exists then go to tirerack.com order some good brake pads and rotors.
I have the same problem...
The ride feels really rough, even on smooth roads.
Over 55 mph, i start feeling a vibration in the steering wheel.
I just got my front brakes done and all four tires balanced, but the problem still exists. I will be getting my alignment done, I hope that solves my problem. I hope its not anything major, like wheel bearings or other suspension components.
