Just read thru all those threads... the last one basically shows loss of HP w/ the 350IM w/o VVT, when the 3.5 is swapped into an A32. I am still curious about HP gains on the 2k2 cars...?

it showed a gain up top, but lower numbers at the bottom. with VTC's i bet it would be good throughout the range

The few ppl in those threads who did the swap didn't own 5.5gen maximas (meaning OE 3.5L)... I'd be interested to see that car w/ the 350 IM

Vsamoylov has a 4th gen with the FULL conversion....hes no different than any other stock 5.5 gen VQ35de maxima out there...so I think his dynos are pretty accurate

thats true. i think he showed good numbers up top, he has very few mods so his gains were not bad. what seems to be true is that it needs exhaust vtc's to take advantage of it.

yeah his #s were 225whp i believe...only intake, exhaust and 350z IM...not too shabby...he did dyno at 242wtq or something though? i wonder whats up with that

i'm sure he'll jump up into the 250 range with the cattman headers and test pipe...

that's a bad example, since his swap didn't go well, and that car belongs to Biggs_02.

my dyno numbers were 227hp and 242 torque. here is the link.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=466571
at that time my only mods were 350z IM with an apexi filter and a greddy sp2 exhaust. if you look in the thread there also was a 06 350z there that put down 241 hp and 219 torque. all i know is that my car is a torque monster and i am curious what my numebrs will be after i get done installing headers this weekend.

but to comment on the spacer, most of the 350z guys are using a motordyne 5/16 spacer and a mrev v2and they get pretty good gains.

dont mean to bash but that vid of the swap is just horrible.

not too excited about it? are you refering to the gains? cause if you are go look at vq35 dynos with a intake and exhaust and the stock IM, then you will see a difference.

5/8 is definitely overboard....even a stock 350z IM won't clear the hood of a maxima....i can't imagine adding a spacer to it (yet alone a 5/8" one)
