SES Code help

P0505 - Idle Air Control Valve / Auxiliary Air Control Valve

checked it out on the FAQ, did a search and didnt find anything very helpful.. it was mentioned a few times but was never the direct issue and wasnt explained.. i saw one post that said it was a $1700 repair???

this came with:

P0158 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2)
P0159 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2)

want to make sure im not replacing parts that dont need to be, etc

the 1700 repair was likely a VQ35 with e-throttle.

cleaning the IAC might solve this, IIRC.

I am having this same issue as well. It is the only code that I am currently getting and doesn't seem to be causing any problems of concern other than (maybe) a slightly higher idle (but that may be due to motor warming up). I have read that simply cleaning the unit won't work because it is the actuall butterfly valve inside that fails, but I'm not familiar with the unit. There's an extensive proceedure in the FSM to diagnose the problems with the unit, so I'm tempted just to pay the $209 for the entire unit from courtesyparts.com. The IAA is located right under the throttle body assembly.
