Hi, Everyone.

Well, I picked up my SE from the body shop today. Oh happy day! She looks good, and I will check her out more tonight. It was great pulling up to the shop and seeing her all shiny and new looking. "Hellllo, baby," was the first thing I said to her. I then sped to work at about 80MPH.

Missed her a lot, but now I can have fun again! I got a new sun shade in anticipation for today, the bra should be coming in next week, I gotta install the rear splash guards, then I'll order the Zaino stuff, and finally...let some mods begin! Man this car is going to get spoiled.

I know the feeling of getting your baby back after a maxima driving hiatus. I feel your joy. Let the mods begin!

p.s. Make sure to check things out carefully. When I got rearended they put a new bumper cover on my baby's back, but didn't seal that tail light properly and my trunk leaked a bit.

Danny,
The chrome is not straight mirror tint, but it is somewhat reflective. I have found that it all depends on the angle and the way the light hits them. On overcast days they are a lot more reflective than on clear days. Here are two pictures so that you can see what I mean. I'll try to take some more pictures soon.

very reflective:

and from a non reflective angle:

FLOMAX,

That's an amazing body shine you got there brutha.

You're still using Zaino, right? How fast does your paint get dusty? I have to dust my car and touch up the wax almost everyday--aahh, the joys (high reflectivity) and pains (gets dusty easily) of having a black car

Lovesick: NO WAY! I would never attempt to do tint myself. It is something that you gotta get have "the touch" to do real well. There is a place in Richmond that does incredible work. They have won the east coast tint championship (can you believe that such a thing exists?) like three of the last five years or something.

It took them the better part of the day and they were supposed to charge me $350, but then one of the guys realized that he knew my brother (something that I didn't realize either) so I ended up only paying $100.

Very few police in VA have the tint gun so I have never gotten bothered. Only the front windows are truly "illegal" and even those aren't by all that much as far as I know.

Maximawanabee: Thanks bro! Yeah the Zaino is still treating me right. I am hoping to put a fresh coat on this weekend. It has been a good two months since I last applied. That detail stuff does a good job after a wash at bringing the shine out.

My car gets dirty real quick...I would love a garage, but that will be a few years down the road. I usually wash her 1-2 times a week to keep her looking reflective. No question though....dust in mine enemy.
out.
