That's how I've always had mine...open enough to hold big things, but you don't have to fight with it to get stuff in/out. I think it took me 1/2 hour to figure out how to install it though when I first got it...

Probably because you only have 1 post.. read the stickies!

After using my cargo net, hammock style for a fwe months now, my only complaint is that if you have to put something large in the trunk, it is a pain positioning it in the back of the trunk, past the damn net.. I guess I could just remove the net before putting anything in, but that seems like a waste of time ...

I went from the cargo net, to a trunk organizer from walmart and now this zip up storage compartment i found at some store. It keeps everything in one place, and allows to to take everything out at once if i need the space.
