5MT digging in the wallet again.
Here we go......
-5-spd went the shop about 2 months ago for a tranny drain/fill, tech told me I had a leak somewhere, and to get the bolts re-torqued and see if that fixed it.
-Bolts re-torqued, 2 weeks later it's still leaking. Based on what tech said and if i read the ESM right, it's where the transmission case and clutch housing bolt together.
-Talked to a guy at a transmission shop and he said to re-seal it would be 3 days and $800. When it was replaced before, it was 10hr. labor, so i think his # isn't far off.
The transmission was replaced 65k ago too. Looks like my options are pretty clear cut - keep re-filling it up until it's leaking out too quickly (i'll go thru a lot of amsoil after a while i'm sure), or just suck it up and have them pull it out to seal it up again. Am I missing something? Other options, or just pay up and b!tch and moan about it???
