Is this board getting more mature?

The maturity has always been fine on the forum (I've been on several of the past Maxima forums) but the quality of the questions has deteriorated. Most of the tech questions get lost in the mix of all the 'other' questions. No offense is directed towards the people asking some of the basic questions, but a lot of this stuff can easily be found if you take the time and use a search engine to get an answer.

Mature?!
Back when I was trying to decide between a Passat GLX 5sp and a Max 5 sp and I was watching the boards regularly, I almost decided the image associated with the Max was too speedfreaky (dare I say ricey?)- too many I raced this, I raced that posts. The Passat folks seemed a little more sophisticated and safety conscious. Any such racing posts were quickly scorched to death by the moral majority.
Then I figured out it might have been because the Passat isn't faster than most cars in its class (stock) and the owners have to spend a lot more time on the boards figuring out all their mechanical problems... ;-)
BTW, Since buying my Max I do have to confess to one stupid stoplight drag with a new GTI VR6. I'm guessing he had an auto - no noticeable changes in nose lift during shifting... and I kicked his butt. He might say he beat me, because he kept it to the floorboard after I decided to draw the line at 85 mph in the 35mph semi residential neighborhood. I still feel like an unsafe idiot, but that VQ song is addicting...as is the ability to chirp the tires on the upshift.
As our society gets more and more competitive, and cars get more and more powerful, it could get interesting...and scary. The EPA and the safety ****'s will probably end this renaissance of muscle - and just like the early 70's, we'll be back to clean and efficient wimpmobiles. Let's see, that would put the next power cycle about when I'm around 70 years old...I wonder what the next generation of "ricers" will do in place of the coffee can mufflers when there isn't any IC engine exhaust to deal with - maybe they'll still have them - they'll just be for decoration with an internal, programmable speaker for "simulated fart noise" in 5 different varieties.

There is hope out there.
The posts on this thread makes me believe once again that there are other Maxima.org people like me who dislike street racing boasts, illegal mods, personal insults and intolerance for minority opinions. Let's hear it for maturity.
