planning on lowering my ride (need help)
Hi.....
I am planning to buy a set of Tein springs to lower 2001 maxima...but I am not sure if i only need to buy these springs to lower the car or i also need to replace my tires to low profile? currently my car has stock size of tires 225/50/17 so do i need to purchase diffrent size of tires in order to avoid rubbing or anything? please help!!!
and what would you say about this deal on ebay........

You will not need to change your wheels/tires. You should consider aftermarket struts and perhaps camber plates since S-techs are a rather low drop, however.
There are dozens of threads on this. Look around for more answers.

Calm down newbie.....it's called sarcasm

I'll let you in on a secret. When you see this:

![wall](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/peepwall.gif)
I was being sarcastic, but since you want to talk ****, apparently:
1. the person who started this thread (NOT you) is asking for inputs, so I'm free to give my inputs, as you are. From my PERSONAL experience the H-techs bottom out excessively, even with cut bumpstops....even my WIFE noticed). The S-techs, as you mentioned, are quite harsh and DO bottom out if bumpstops are not cut. The Eibachs (currently on the car) and Maxspeeds (on the car a while ago) do not.
2. I'm not sure what driving experience has to do with springs bottoming out anyhow. That has a bit more to do with spring rates, strut rebound rates, bumpstop length, and the weight of the car.
3. As to your experience, I have no idea how "experienced" your are....
![got me](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/ne_nau.gif)
My experience:
Probably about 50 autocrosses
3 ralleyecrosses
15 or so open-track days
15 years driving
3 years driving in Italy at excessive speeds
10 years driving the terrible DC area roads.
Only one accident in 15 years that was my fault...it resulted in a bent license plate frame.
4. I post my opinions when they are asked for, and if you ask around you might find that I have *some* experience with the subject in question. Don't come on here acting like you're Mr. Badass and nobody can contradict your OPINION of springs. When you get 4-5 PM's a day asking your advice on what springs to get, come back and talk to me.
I have my opinions, which I am free to express.
You have your opinions, which I am free to dismiss.

I ain't got time for your all fools. I'm a grown *** 30 year old man. FYI... I have another screen name up on here since 02. I recently changed my name and it's pretty sad to think you all look at newbie's as fools. Like I said " grow up". No need for OT cause we are all here for one think " More knowledge on the maxima's".

I will agree with you, though, that there really is no need for OT. The remark, again, was sarcastic.
You seem to have a little bit of trouble understanding the sarcasm thing (note: I'm being sarcastic again).

you have every right to comment on what you think of the springs. Your comments vis-a-vis my "experience" and the validity of my comments are what made you sound foolish.
I thought I was talking about Maximas![Scratch](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/scratchhead.gif)
