Max vs Intrepid 0 - 65, No Prob
#1
Last night I noticed some guy in a Dodge Intrepid driving like an ***, so finally we caught a stoplight, so I figured I would try and take him off the line. It turned green and we took off. I didn't torque break, I didn't shift the auto manually (I kind of thought I might not need to), I just floored it. That proved to be enough He was definitely trying, that engine was loud, I had the windows down and could hear his engine over mine and the music. Anyhow, by the time I was at 65 he was a car length + behind and I was pulling away easily. He gave up.
Also, I just noticed I am no longer a newbie, finally

Next time - brake torque and manually shift so you can beat him by three cars. That way when he goes back to the Intrepid forum he won't be able to say (a la some of our competitors) "I really wasn't trying to race . . . " And " If I had really raced, I would have beaten him . . ."

In my opinion... american cars are fast, but styling, quality, and workmanship are lacking compared to import cars. The only american vehicle I would buy is a truck or a van... maybe
