Muffler to exhaust midpipe mount
Muffler to exhaust midpipe mount
02SE..
I managed to disconnect my muffler from the exhaust system. If you look in front of the rear tire, there are two pipes that come together and bolt up. If you remove this bolt, you can remove the muffler unit.
My issue is the metal connector disconnected from the pipe itself. Is the pipe welded to this connector, or is it some kind of pressure connector?
Cheapest way to fix it?

Yes, the connector is called a flange. I assumed it probably rusted away and caused it to seperate from the pipe. It's common for the 5th gener's. Almost everybody who had a stock muffler went thru this. You have two options.
1) Cut the flange off and weld a connector pipe to the B-pipe.
2) Buy a new muffler and call it a day.
