02 Fog light install, bumper off or not?

Ok so my 02 has the GXE inserts in the fog light holes and I am about to install some oem style fog lights. I have searched and found the instructions for bulb replacement without taking the front bumper off. I am wondering if that is what i should do, or if it would be better to take off the front bumper??? And if so, where are the mounting points that i need find to remove it? Thank you in advance!

All I've had to do to remove/replace the fogs is to remove the splash guards, that's it, not the entire bumper. I'm assuming the wiring is already there so you won't have to make any new connections.

^^^ What he said. You do not need to take off the bumper. Just take a look under and remove all tabs and screws that hold the splash guard in place.

Im assuming the wiring is there too. My car is a SE but the previous owner did cheap fix on the front bumper and didnt install new fog lights. Guess he bought a GXE bumper? The car has the foglights switch on the steering column so im hoping its all good. Im going to give it a shot, thanks.

i'll do you one even easier. don't go from underneath. go from above. remove your headlights. the whole bumper are is exposed. you can remove the fogs, and do what you want. i'm not a fan of being on the floor and removing stuff. made it harder since the car is low. tons easier to remove the headlights.

If your car is not dropped and you have the "SUV clearance", you should be fine fitting under the car unless your a fat fawk.

i think it's moreso who wants to laydown. it's easier to do the job standing up.

try it and you'll see....that is all.

There's a ton of room to work with by simply going from under the car. That is creating way too much work for yourself.

try it, i felt the same way as you do, there is only 2 10mm bolts per headlight, and it literally take abotu 30 seconds to take the lights off

no one believes until they try it.
it's like saying, if you had the capability, would you do your oil change under the car, or standing up, given you were able to access the filter with nothing in your way.
