Removing Hood Insulator

Just remove the pop-tab lookin things by poppin them off with a flat head? Anything to disconnect once i get those out, or is it that easy?

It's just that easy on the gen 5.5 (just replaced mine). Don't know about a 2K, though I would expect it to be the same.

cause i can! haha no real reason, i may try to get murano sprayers before too long, and just wanna get a look under there to see what i'd be lookin at.

Is there any benefit to removing the hood insulation? Will the engine run cooler in the summer?

There well be a very small difference. Not enough to notice though. I rather have protect my hood to be honest with you.

maybe he wants to remove it becuz hes getting a new hood...and if you wanna take off your windshield washer hoses, you have to remove the insulation under the hood to reach it...

It is designed to fall on the engine in case of fire and smother it.
