Which trim to go with, Navi or GXE?

If I was going to install an aftermarket head unit in the 5th Gen., which trim is it better to go with. From what I understand, there will be a gap with both of the but in different places. With GXE trim, the gap is going to be on top. Although with Navi trim, where will be gaps on the sides. Am I correct? If possible, could some one please post some pictures of their aftermarket head units with two of those different trims. Thank you very much in advance.

I used the GXE kit and there is a significant gap at the bottom, not the top.

I have the navigation screen from eclipes in my car and i bought a 00-03maxima double din frame for the dahs board. all i had to do was cut out the piece that held the pocket in and used the frame. fit perfect

Navi trim will NOT fit right. GXE is the only way to go.

what gap are you referring to? If you mean the "gap" around the radio with the GXE kit, you simply use an ISO-DIN adaptor plate and Presto, gap is gone:

Irish, how did you get the adapter plate to fit? I just installed an Alpine and I didn't have enough room at the top of the HU for the adapter to fit.

Then you didn't install it right. If you install a single din HU you should have exactly enough space for a single din pocket (OEM of course)
