But guess what? Plug are the same but the size aren't the same. 02-03 radio is longer and wider than 00-01. So, it is not direct fit.

the only thing is the reliability issue...I've had to replace this HU twice in the 25k miles I've owned the car...it's not worth it IMO

EDIT: forgot to mention the reason why i replaced it: It's because this HU has something wrong with it (I think it's due to the Speed sensitive volume control) that makes it cut out all the left side speakers. It's an extremely widespread problem and the new ones from the dealer are no different..

I do know that the '00-'04 Bose radios for the I30/I35 are slightly longer and wider than the '00-'03 Bose radios for Maximas even though they look exactly the same. The Infiniti Bose radios have some trim around the units that is color coordinated with the interior.

So as long as you make sure you get a changer that is from a Maxima, everything should fit. Connectors and all. Again, I've done it in both a Maxima and an I30.

By the way, you said that it is not a direct fit, but you were the one that asked everyone else if it was a direct fit in the first place. Why ask the question if you already knew the answer?
