hey everyone I have a few questions about this. I searched around and couldn't really find anything. I own a 2000 5th gen maxima and my buddy has a 2003 5.5 gen maxima. He is selling his car and I asked him if i can swap out my headlight for his. He said yes.

I was wondering first of all with the 5.5 gen headlights fit on the 5th gen?

Do I have to change my front bumper to the 5.5 gen in order to use the 5.5 gen headlights?

Also what else needs to be done in order to use the 5.5 gen hid kit.

And is there any modifications that need to be done?

You dont need to get a new bumper, but you will have a small gap unless you get the 2k2 2k3 headlight clip, when you do the swap you will see a small white clip that attaches to the bottom of the housing, its like 5 bux a peice at the dealer, or mebey you could swap the clips. Im shure you are gonna hafta do some wiring though.

Yes, it can be done without swapping bumpers. This has been discussed many many many times.

No, no one will post what has to be done for the swap because that has been the source of many disputes as to whether that information should be posted in public.

If you do some searching for past HID threads, you will see who has the write-ups and you can contact them individually for help.
