Exhaust :) ??
I'm piecing myself together a supercharger kit right now and my stock muffler is all on crooked (had straight pipe before, but got tagged
), so I was thinking....why wouldn't 3" from the y pipe be nice!
Now, I was plenty used to my wicked loud car before with nothing but a cat to "quiet" it down, but how loud would 3" be with a high flow cat and just piping all the way back to the muffler (probably a dynomax)? I'm sure one of you guys have done it....I hope.
I'm going to want this for performance and however loud it is it just has to be "legal"
What do yall think?

Unless you actually run a high boost FI system a 3" exhaust on a Maxima is not only pointless, but it can hurt "flow" be reducing exhaust velocity.
Cattman was working on one but I don't know what happened to it. I know some problems were with a 3" exhaust banging on everything possible since it was so big.
2.5" is more than enough for a NA V6, upgrade your exhaust to 3" AFTER you install your SC and have it running high boost #'s. But then again your exhaust is the last problem you have to worry about when running high boost on a Maxima.

You could also just go with an exhaust cut-out that's electronically activated, via a manual switch or even a RPM switch if you want to get creative.
Also look around the SC/Turbo forum to see what other people have done in the past and their experiences.
