Ugh, bad ABS Wheel Speed Sensors

Well my ABS light came on the other day and my car was driving really poorly. So I took it in to the dealer to have it looked at. It turns out my car is in "Fail Safe Mode" which I guess is whats responsible for the ****ty acceleration and such. Anyways I had my service advisor call National Autocare which is my warranty company to see if the ABS Wheel Speed Sensors were covered. Of course not. So I went home with my car unrepaired. I just looked at my coverage brochure and it spells out ABS SENSOR"S" as in it covers more than one sensor. Am i getting F@cked over by National or what? Id rather save the 350.00 its going to cost to install them and just pay the 50.00 deductible...

My extended warranty paid for mine to be replaced.

Crappy acceleration should have nothing to do with your ABS sensor. One of mine is pulled out right now and my car performs the same except my ABS and TC is turned off. I also had both fronts broken before and it never hurt my acceleration.

If I were you I would call the warranty company myself and verify that it is not covered. I think you are getting fawked.

I also wanted to add that my "OD" light is flashing sometimes when I start my car. Not sure but is this a tranny issue?

I have a fully loaded auto 2000 SE. 5-speeds could not get TC, only on autos.

They are covered? Thats good, those can cause driveability problems, noise, rough driving but im not sure about the OD light. ABS i think so, maybe someone who knows more about it can chime in but i think the axles have a toothed ring around the outer CV boot that the ABS sensor gets its readings from, so if its all messed up or covered in grease, could be your problem

Frist set- ripped apart by control arm when I slammed my car on D2's.

Brand new passangers- torn clean out by idiot at dealership when they installed my Stillen lip. Then to top it off, they pretend like nothing happened and hand me back my car with my dash lit up like a Christmas tree...

You are on!

Ok: ABS, TC, Slip and last but certainly not least my CEL for my EGR.

Makes a grand total of four lights on right now.

Just curious how they come-up with $350 for a wheel sensor? They are about $100 and take two minutes to change.

I dunno about the two minutes to change part. I pulled one out of a fourth gen (I assume they are the same) and it took me a while as it was frozen to the sides. No amount of penetrating oil helped. I eventually just torched it out.
